Welcome to my Web site!
After a 50 year career in the Motion Picture Industry working as a
cinematographer, I have been busy lecturing and writing. To this date I have written and published
6 books, all of which
are vastly different from one another.
My first book
"Footnote To History" is autobiographical, covering my life
growing up in Hungary prior to and during World War 2, concluding with my
eventual immigration to the United States.
Drawing on experiences from the various Motion Pictures I photographed,
"Every Frame A Rembrandt"
is written for
those interested in filmmaking from both a business, technical and artistic
point of view. In it I use examples from specific movies to describe the
techniques and processes that a cinematographer employs in the crafting of a
theatrical film.
My third book, a novel entitled
"The Seven Graces of God"
, chronicles the adventures of a 7 year old World War II
refuge. His rags to riches story follows his triumphs and setbacks as he
constructs a new life in America.
Returning to my years working in movies and
television, "It's
A Wrap" describes the unexpected events that alter the course
of entire productions and in fact occasionally altered my life.
"The Rat
Catcher" is the tale of
a serial killer is on the hunt. His victims
appear to all have had a common link in their pasts. They were all
participants in the Nazi Holocaust.
My most recently published novel is entitled,
"A Fight of No Consequence." After being released from prison.
Thomas Duane Prinez (AKA "The Prince) is eager to return to promoting fights
only this time there will be no rules, no referees and no bell to save a
losing fighter.
These books are available at all major book retailers or request them at
your local library. For your

Noble or directly from the publishers.
“Banjin”
is about a young, illiterate, Japanese fisherman’s apprentice, Masahiro, who
is shipwrecked, rescued by an American sea captain and brought to, and
educated in, the United States of America. He decides to go back to Japan in
spite of the known dangers Japanese expatriates face on their return and
endures unbelievable cruelty at the hands of his countrymen. In the end,
having been elevated to the rank of Adviser to the Imperial Court, he brings
about the opening of Japan by Commodore Matthew Perry, and the birth of
modern Japan. His extraordinary life story is based on Manjiro Nakahama, the
only Japanese national living in the United States of America in the mid
1800s.
I am also the creator and former manufacturer of
Andras Fly-Tying Benches, a
premium work bench for aficionados of hand tied flies used for the sport of
Fly Fishing. These benches were sold nationwide by mail order and through
premium Fly Shops such as Dan Bailey's in Livingston, Montana. I recently
sold this business. For current information please see my Fly-fishing page.
